31st Great Lakes Suzuki Institute in Paris ON - Suzuki Flute Unit 1

Since 1994 Great Lakes Suzuki Institute has offered a 5-day summer flute intensive in the month of July. Our world-class faculty have been invited to teach at Suzuki workshops and festivals all over the globe.

We are passionate about youth, music, and flute and recorder playing! Students receive daily master classes, group class, enrichment and a chamber ensemble or reading group. Events include a welcome picnic, informal solo recital, community group performance and closing concert

Our location at St Paul’s United Church (48 Broadway St W) is adjacent to a large green space where students can enjoy packed lunches and rest or stretch between classes. It is a short walk from Lions Park.

This year’s theme: BACH TO BASICS!

Pedagogy courses for teachers include Suzuki Flute Units 1+2, Teaching Strategies, Introduction to Suzuki Recorder, and two evening talks. All are offered in person or online. See www.greatlakessuzuki.com for details

Stratford Symphony Orchestra - Honouring Our Heroes

Knox Presbyterian Church, 7:30 pm Stratford, ON
Special Guest: Teddy Payne

This special Remembrance Day concert features music from great European and English composers. The concert opens with Elgar’s stately and solemn “Pomp and Circumstance March #4”. The principal wind players are featured in Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante.” The intricate “Enigma Variations” by Elgar, including “Nimrod’s” glorious melody and restrained emotion, will not only challenge the orchestra, but thrill the audience too. Our special guest, Teddy Payne, will grace us with a number of recitations
